Discover How a Personalized Boudoir Session Can Transform Your Confidence and Celebrate Your Unique Story

As a boudoir photographer, it is important to me to get to know my clients. What is their history? What is the motivation behind the session? What are they hoping to get from the images? How do they want to express themselves? Do they have certain areas of their body that they are insecure about? What do they love about their body? Who are the images for?

These details are incredibly important to ensure the client always feels comfortable and safe. The session should always be tailored to them in every way. I take time to build a relationship with my clients after they book. This is done by talking through outfits, exchanging boudoir inspiration ideas and walking through day of expectations so we are both on the same page.

When I met Sierra, she shared her story with me. She told me about the trials she had overcome and the victories she had won, and I was instantly inspired. She is a domestic abuse survivor, she has battled Lyme’s disease, and she has recently divorced. She wanted her session to be more about loving herself and her body. She wanted to feel sexy and desirable but to keep things on the classy, modest, softer side.

Creating the Perfect Session

My top priority was ensuring that she felt safe to speak up and express her desires. She decided she wanted her hair and makeup done in the studio, so she didn’t feel the need to stress about it. Anytime my clients are interested in that and have the budget, I always highly suggest it. It just makes the entire experience feel more luxurious and allows them to feel pampered without having to make appointments or stress.

When choosing her wardrobe, we stuck to lingerie pieces and outfits that were sexy without being overly revealing. Button up shirts and oversized sweaters are easy ways to not feel overly exposed but still look beautiful and sexy. We also chose fun flirty poses that were not super suggestive or insinuating. I love switching it up to create images that showcase the personality of my clients and allow them to truly embody the fun and sensual sides of themselves.

Sierra was also turning forty and wanted to use this boudoir session as a celebration gift to herself. She wanted to feel empowered, to celebrate her life, her beauty and also as a way to optimistically look to the future. She has overcome so much. She is such an inspiration- she was finally making her health and happiness a priority.

A Memorable and Empowering Experience

The day started with hair and makeup by my girl, Savannah Octavia. Sierra has a latex allergy- which Savannah doesn’t use latex products so that wasn’t an issue at all. Sierra also decided she didn’t want to cover her freckles, but instead she chose to keep it all light and natural. The options to customize your session is literally endless. This session and this day is ALL ABOUT YOU!!!!

Sierra brought a two piece lingerie set that she loved. We started with some natural posing as well as added in a button up. Sierra took advantage of an oversized sweater from my client closet as well as a body suit that she loved. Being able to offer items in my client closet that my customers can utilize without forcing them to buy items they would only use once is also so important to me.

We had lots of fun and flirty shots throughout the session. During the session, we did some dark and moody, but we also took some pictures on the light and airy side of my studio. Having this flexibility really allows the client to see themselves on both sides and gives them the freedom to choose which style they like best.

Part of human nature is to want instant gratification. We want to see our images and we want to be able to take them with us as soon as the session is over! I also want to be able to give that experience to my customers. Sierra chose one of my most popular packages that allows the client to view their gallery the same day!!!

We sat down together after her session and she got to choose between a metal print to hang on her wall or a photo album. She chose the photo album, and we customized this exactly the way she wanted with options for each page, the layout of the album and even getting to choose the album cover. Her album was ordered before she left and it was set to be delivered approximately 7-10 days later! She also got to take 120+ images with her on a flash drive the very same day!

Want to have the same experience as Sierra? I want to hear your story, I want to celebrate your victories and I want to showcase your beauty! Let’s chat!
